Two New Area Seventy Called Before General Conference
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints supported two new Area Seventy prior to General Conference: Charden Ndinga from Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo and Pedro E. Hernandez from Punto Fijo, Venezuela.
The Area Seventy were supported at a leadership meeting in Temple Square on Thursday, according to a Church press release.
Elder Ndinga will replace Elder Gaetan Kelounou in the Third Quorum of the Seventy. Prior to this call, he was the stake president of the Pointe-Noire Church in the Republic of the Congo. He is the CEO and founder of AZ Trading & Services SARL.
Elder Hernandez will replace Elder Guillermo I. Guardia in the Ninth Quorum of the Seventy. Brother Hernandez was a member of the stake high council before this calling and is a physician.
âThe Area Seventy are special witnesses of Jesus Christ in the geographic areas in which they reside (Doctrine and Covenants 27:12). They serve under the direction of the Presidency of the Seventy, âthe announcement said.
