African Leadership Summit in Salt Lake City announced for September

Salt Lake City – Future Scholars of Africa, a 501(c) nonprofit organization based in Utah, will host the annual African Leadership Summit on September 24, 2022 at the University of Utah School of Law. This event is organized for students of African descent between the ages of 16 and 25 and aims to provide students with concrete leadership tools to use in their communities.

Workshops will cover personal finance, LinkedIn, resume building, transferable business skills, starting a business, building confidence, and goal setting. Speakers will include highly skilled and successful professionals of African descent. It is expected that 100 African refugees and African immigrant students will attend.

Future Scholars of Africa looks forward to continuing to grow the Leadership Summit and hopes to attract more attendees, more speakers and incorporate more workshops as we prepare for the summit and plan for the years to come. This is a crucial opportunity for them to learn valuable skills and see examples of successful Africans in their communities.

Four levels of sponsorship are available for this event. These sponsorships include naming rights opportunities, banner ads at the event, guest speaker, display ads, and logo features on our website and social media platforms. If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Heather Barber, Chair of the Board.

As an organization, Future Scholars of Africa aims to help individuals learn life skills and access education and mentorship. Eighty thousand refugees live along the Wasatch front; the majority of these refugees are under the age of twenty-one.
