Union County Women Mean Business Summit returns with “Lessons in Leadership”, October 25 – County of Union

The Union County Board of Commissioners would like to announce that after two years, the annual Union County Women Mean Business Summit (UCWMB) is back and will be held in person on October 25th.e 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Galloping Hill Golf Course, located at 3 Golf Drive in Kenilworth.

“Whether it’s a first-time attendee, manager, or business owner, this seminar will provide the tools to grow their network, learn new skills, and develop a plan to grow in their skills. respective industries and help meet the challenges of the current economic environment. climate,” said Commissioner-President Rebecca Williams. “Connecting the women of our diverse community is more important than ever and I hope to see great turnout at this event.”

This powerful forum, titled “Lessons in Leadership,” is an annual conference with an immersive experience that will include a series of workshops and discussions for women at all stages of their careers. This year, the UCWMB Summit will feature keynote speaker Judith Persichilli, RN, BSN, MA, Commissioner of the New Jersey State Department of Health.

Please note that tickets will not be sold at the door. Pre-registration is now open online at ucnj.org/ucwmb. A continental breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee. Those who register before October 14e get a special early bird rate at $50.00 and after that date general admission will be $55.

The event includes ample time for networking as well as two breakout sessions, from which attendees can choose one topic each.

First session (9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.)

“How and why it is essential to build and maintain valuable relationships” Whether in the private sector or in public practice, understand the value of honing your networking skills and learn some practical tools to become more efficient and effective in developing meaningful relationships. Everyone, personally and professionally, can benefit from a powerful network of contacts. During this hour-long interactive session, Sally Glick shares insights into best practices that will empower participants to develop a personal plan for embedding meaningful relationships in all aspects of their professional and personal lives. Or “Navigating the New Normal” The workplace is very different in a post-pandemic world and many of us are still working from home, trying to juggle work duties and normal life. We search for jobs, try to establish valuable working relationships and learn to introduce ourselves virtually rather than face to face. On top of all that, this “new normal” can weigh us down emotionally. The panelists in this session will help you navigate this changing landscape to achieve the best possible results. “Nail the Negotiation” Negotiation can be difficult. Whether you need to do this for yourself, your business, or something else in your life, we all face the need to negotiate from time to time. In this session, we will discuss strategies for successful trading to achieve the best results. Note: This is a guided interactive session that is driven by audience participation. OR “Turn passion into profit” Do you have a hobby or activity that you really enjoy? Have you ever wondered how to turn your passion into a profitable business? The women on this panel did just that – and will share what they learned along the way. A business consultant will explain what it really takes to start your own business and make it a success. This panel will be your guide to turning what you love into a profitable business.
