Leadership Greenville inaugurates a new playground at the YMCA
GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Leadership Greenville opened a new playground on Friday at the YMCA Judson Community Center.
Leadership Greenville is the flagship leadership development program of the Greenville Chamber. They selected the Greenville YMCA Judson Community Center Playground as one of the beneficiaries of this year’s service projects.
The playground has not been updated since the community center was built in 2000 and serves a community of families in need.
“We are very grateful to the Greenville Chamber, Leadership Greenville and all of the donors who have supported Judson’s new children’s playground,” said Stephanie Knobel, Executive Director of the Judson Community Center. “This project is much more than a new playground. It is to show these children that they are seen, loved and taken care of by our community. It’s a place where they will grow up, make new friends and feel like they are part of something special.
The new playground features two slides, a tunnel, a sliding pole, a service window, a large tic-tac-toe game, a space underneath to play, and steps to help develop their progressive gross motor skills. It is designed for children from 3 to 8 years old.
